Relocation
Briefing
What is it
about
If you work with people of
different nationalities, you are probably aware that cultural differences
add another dimension to business dealings which are already
very complex. Many studies show that cross-cultural training can
increase the effectiveness and productivity of people involved in
international business. The awareness of your
own preferences and norms is a vital starting point to
developing cross-cultural competence. Cross-cultural training aims to
develop cultural self-awareness, as well as the skills and attitudes
required to help participants form more rewarding relationships with
their international business partners. We help
prepare clients who are in the process of relocating to another
culture, to support them while they are there, and sometimes on
their return too.
How
We focus on the
individual client and their own specific requirements. We use
a coaching style, involving questioning and listening as well as
relevant input. We aim to draw on the client’s own experience
to use as a basis for reflection, ongoing learning and personal
development.
How long
Sessions from a short half day
briefing to a more extensive 2 days (or 1 day plus a number of
ongoing telephone support sessions).
Who
for International assignees and their families in
preparation for their move abroad, or on arrival at their new
destination. Also recommended for returning
assignees.
For
professionals who work internationally without relocating, who have
high exposure to new cultures e.g. through new projects involving
different international parties, company mergers, and in the
preparation of large tenders for a foreign client.
